I have received some initial renderings from the Coal Factory redevelopment project in Irvington.  This looks to be an exciting reuse which should help bring some new attention to the neighborhood, as well as link to an extension of the Pennsy Trail.
The reason we moved from Historic Irvington was a need for housing with an attached or close garage and laundry room not in the basement. We are inspired by what has happened to and developing in Irvington. Are there plans for housing (appts., condos or town houses)that would give the safety of covered close parking and availability of resources for the near to or retired? We are not one of those that would be happy in a retirement facility. Our hopes is that Irvington will begin to follow Fountain Sq., and Fletcher Place’s lead and provide us with these choices in a neighborhood that we love.
