A reminder for everyone who cares about mass transit in Indy: please come out to the Indy City County Building this Monday evening at 6:30 to greet the councilors as they enter into the public assembly room and then at 7 for the public hearing portion. As long as everything goes according to plan, this will be the final vote by the councilors on whether to move forward with the mass transit plan for Indy. Just a reminder: for those of us who know how good the IndyConnect mass transit plan is and how vital it is for the future success of Indianapolis in so many different ways, there is a very important council meeting to show your support at tonight at 5:30 in room 260 in the City County Building. It’s absolutely vital that as many of us show up to this meeting as possible in support of the full transit plan. After passing the referendum in Indianapolis with relative ease, the mass transit issue now moves to the City-County Council, which is first introduced tonight at 7 pm @ the City County Building. Here is the tentative schedule:
1/9–Introduced at council meeting and assigned to Rules & Public Policy Committee (7pm Assembly Room)
1/30Â at 7pm for public testimony to the whole council
2/1–hearing at Municipal Corporation Committee (5:30pm Room 260)
2/21–official advertised public hearing and vote by Rules Committee (5:30pm Room 260)
2/27–full council votes on final adoption...

Indy’s Plan2020 has posted a link to an updated version of the proposed Red Line between Westfield and Greenwood. That’s right, Westfield, who’s mayor has been a consistent supporter of transit, is included in the newest configuration. Here’s the latest map (shown in 20 parts)
