Strong Indy, our local chapter of Strong Towns applied to our beloved city of Indianapolis, is having a very special monthly meeting this week on Thursday, April 20th. It’s being hosted by Big Car at the Tube Factory artspace in Garfield Park.
We have the honor of having Cara Courage speak to us about her research in placemaking and her new book which includes a section about the efforts of Big Car in Garfield Park. Jane’s Walk 2014: Lafayette Square

On Saturday, I joined several others who were taken on an exploratory walk around Lafayette Square and Eagledale Neighborhood. Â The path we took was clockwise as follows:
Like last year’s walk around Garfield Park, this neighborhood is full of challenges and opportunities. Unlike Garfield Park, Lafayette Square and Eagledale are suburban in form, although it still held several surprises.
First, we had to say goodbye to Big Car’s original Service Center. Â They’ve been asked to leave their space by the end of the month, which will once again be used to service vehicles....
