Bike Party Indy is an informal collective of individuals who meet once a month, starting off at the City Market downtown. From there, they ride in the evening, usually as a group. If someone gets left behind, they stop. The group practices safe cycling techniques, and is relaxed and welcoming to anyone who wants to join. Today marks the 11th anniversary of Urban Indy. I apologize for my lack of recent posts, but I’m still around. There is a lot to talk about, but the one project that got the most votes on my twitter poll was the Hanna International Lofts in Lafayette Square. This part of town has long interested me, as it could have faltered heavily through a lack of investment. The built environment is pure 1960’s-1990’s sprawl. Another Parking Lot Gone?

It appears the trend of developing our lowest and worst uses will continue with a new proposal for the storied parking lot at the northeast corner of Pennsylvania and Vermont. Perhaps inspired by TWG’s development on the old Indy Star site, this proposal calls for a 7-story, mixed-use building with 165 dwelling units, 157-space parking garage and 2,200 square feet of retail. We just received this, so we are interested in your thoughts.
