Strong Towns Curbside Chat

strongtowns

Tomorrow evening, Chuck Marohn from Strong Towns is making an appearance at The Hall at 6:00 PM. Marohn has been a advocate for better planning practices for years, and does a fine job of boiling down complicated subjects into easily digestible snippets on his many youtube videos. I plan on attending tomorrow night to see what he has to say about Indianapolis, and I hope to see other fans of Urban Indy there.

I’m going and I invited 3 friends, 2 of which are coming so far. This is a tremendous opportunity to hear Charles speak. I’ve been following his work for a while now and am excited to hear him speak in our city!

Is there a way to add social media “share” or “email” options to articles like this? It would make it easier to spread the word.

I’ll be there with my kids. Very excited about this. Indy really needs this.

  4. Also, a correction: the chat starts at 6 pm. It was labeled as 6:30 in my post.

Did anyone film this event or take notes from it that they would be willing to post? Or would anyone who attended share the high points, especially what Chuck had to say about Indianapolis?

    • Marohn didn’t say much about Indy. He basically added at the end that the plans on display in The Hall were a good step in the right direction. For this most part, though, it was a powerpoint presentation that featured his home town of Brainerd, Minnesota.

Yeah, I figured it would be something like that. It sounds like he did a lot of analysis and spent more time in Memphis. I think the point of these presentations is to get his message out, they aren’t really for people who already subscribe to Strongtowns in anyway. Which is fine. I like the message and enjoyed supporting him.
