62nd Street Multi Use Path under construction

62nd Street Multi Use Path under construction
I reported on the 62nd street multi-use path plans nearly a year and a half ago and I am happy to report that real earth is now being turned towards the realization of the planning. Tree removal along 62nd street has been occurring for a few weeks now. Last week, median reconfiguration began and finished. This week, pavement along the south side of 62nd street and adjacent to the Glendale Shopping Center is being removed. INDOT breaks ground on I-69 widening

INDOT breaks ground on I-69 widening

Irvington Streetscape Project underway

Irvington Streetscape Project underway
After 7 long years of fundraising and background legal work, the Irvington streetscape project kicked off yesterday.   Photos of the groundbreaking can be seen via the Irvington Development Organization’s facebook page.  This project will help reclaim Washington Street for pedestrians in the neighborhood, which has seen a good deal of new locally-owned businesses open in the past few years. According to the article in the Indianapolis Star, the first phase will take place on the 5 blocks between Irvington and Bolton Avenues, which could also be considered Downtown Irvington: The second...
