This Sunday, I will be departing IND for PDX, to spend a week in Portland, OR for the Railvolution conference.  I hope to be able to provide some updates while I am there, but there will be a lot of work to do.

The conference starts on Monday and will run through Thursday. I will be participating in a mobile workshop on Monday taking the light rail out to United Streetcar where the modern streetcars are actually manufactured. The rest of the time will be spent in and out of workshops.

I intend to have a full website worth of materials once I get back and pull everything together. There will be video and photographs galore as well. One hopeful outcome is a video to be able to show in People for Urban Progress’ studio on First Friday’s.

Tune in next week as I periodically try and provide some photos and updates of my time spent in one of our nation’s most transit friendly cities.

Trimet management has decided we need to pay for our health care now, they jettisoned the arbitration with the union.

Three cheers for union busting TRIMET!
