Before and After: Dorman Street commercial Building

The first of 2 unrelated posts on the near East Side. I was driving past this building when I noticed that it was undergoing major renovation. Here’s what it looked like a few years ago, courtesy of Google Maps:

I noticed this building when I was taking pictures of the neighborhood, but had no idea that it was once covered in all that ivy. I wonder what’s going to go there?

I’m not sure what will happen there. An actual store would have to become a destination place similar to the Goose, because it’s not on a corner with much visibility. Perhaps a community center would work there as well.

I wish this building was for sale.

  4. Hi, I live across from this building and have gathered a lot of information about it though the years. Here is a summary: http://historicindianapolis.com/then-and-now-ruskaup-store-715-dorman-street/
